There are many reasons people seek out therapy. Perhaps you’ve set big goals and dreams for your life, but find that self-doubt sneaks in and shrinks them down— the endless chatter in your mind saying “I’m not good/attractive/smart/strong enough”. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety or a sense of loneliness, insecurity or disconnection in your relationships. Or you’re tired of repeating the same old patterns but unsure why or how to break them.

I believe cultural messages and life experiences can largely shape the way we see ourselves and the world & the way we relate to others. If your environments growing up—family, school or community— were not able to meet the universal need for safety, love, nurture & belonging, you may find yourself believing you are lacking in some way, it’s unsafe to trust others, or countless other beliefs that keep you feeling stuck.

Your mind and body have incredible capacity for healing—not just coping. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, PTSD & other responses to trauma. I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrative therapy model that activates the brain’s natural healing process and helps clients effectively digest painful memories, uproot negative beliefs & alleviate distress. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed & rooted in bringing compassion to all parts of you and your experience.

A bit about me:

I’ve lived in Wilmington, North Carolina for 14 years, but grew up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I am a daily Wordle solver, podcast enthusiast, gardener, and mom to a sassy old cat and a dog whom you may occasionally hear snoring under my office chair.

I very much consider it an honor to hold space for others as they make sense of the confusing, beautiful, painful, and mundane experiences of life. Whether we work together or not, know that I’m rooting for you!
